To make the finalist selection as transparent and open to the industry as possible, the Mobile Premier Awards brought together an online jury of industry experts to select the best startups, out of the 49 MPA in Innovation Nominees, selected by MobileMonday chapters around the globe.
The startups are valued on the basis of their:
The jury members need to consider geographical diversity, keeping a good balance between different countries and continents. Jury members may not select a startup from their own country or have any commercial activity with any of the startups they choose.
We ask the jury members to choose startups with a cool mobile product, avoiding agencies, pure technology or low value me-too propositions. We stimulate diversity of application and solution areas, and we ask them to keep an eye open at the startups from developing countries.
The finalists will be announced here on January 25.

MMA offers winner free MMA membership, participation in MMF events and free consultancy from members as part of agreement
Barcelona and London: December 10, 2009 – The Mobile Premier Awards today announced an unprecedented partnership with the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) to sponsor the Best Start Up in Marketing category of its awards program. Taking place on February 15th 2010 during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Mobile Premier Awards are the largest open and global start up competition in the mobile industry. Organised in partnership with some of the industry’s biggest associations and communities, it provides the point of reference for the start up community at Mobile World Congress .
Under the terms of this partnership, the Mobile Marketing Association will grant the winning start up of the Mobile Premier Award in Marketing:

Here’s some tips on how to create a good company profile for your startup participating to the Mobile Premier Awards.
After having setup and published your company profile at dotopen.com, go to your dashboard to update your profile.
Use the ‘projects’ tab to stuff your startup profile with more details on the projects you’re working on or the applications you developed. You can easily add a slideshare or PDF presentations.
Use the ‘media’ tab to add slideshare presentations and YouTube video’s of your startup pitches and demo’s.
Here’s a great example of a good company profile that has all relevant information needed for the jury to make a good decision. The better the profile, the easier it is for them!
