Apply to Become a Mobile Premier Award 2010 Jury Member

To make the finalist selection as transparent and open to the industry as possible, the Mobile Premier Awards is bringing together an online jury of industry experts to select the best startups to present on February 15, 2010 in Barcelona.

For the MPA in Innovation award in partnership with MobileMonday, each local chapter selects its nominee to go into the final. For this edition we have 75 chapters nominating their favourite startup, so we ask the online jury to select the 20 finalists that will present at the event in Barcelona.

If you’re interested to become part of that jury or know someone who should be part of it, send an email to jury AT mobilepremierawards DOT com with a short bio, your LinkedIn profile, and personal blog and twitter name.

The Mobile Premier Awards are the point of reference in startup premiers during the Mobile World Congress on February 15, 2010 in Barcelona and are organized in collaboration with some of the main networks in the industry including MobileMonday, Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), MEX, MobileActive.org, Women 2.0 and the Women in Mobile Data Association.

Participation to the awards is free and open to any startup with a mobile angle. Mobile Premier Awards Secure Unprecedented Mobile Marketing Association Sponsorship of Best Start Up in Marketing Category

MMA offers winner free MMA membership, participation in MMF events and free consultancy from members as part of agreement

Barcelona and London: December 10, 2009 – The Mobile Premier Awards today announced an unprecedented partnership with the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) to sponsor the Best Start Up in Marketing category of its awards program. Taking place on February 15^th 2010 during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Mobile Premier Awards are the largest open and global start up competition in the mobile industry. Organised in partnership with some of the industry’s biggest associations and communities, it provides the point of reference for the start up community at Mobile World Congress .

Under the terms of this partnership, the Mobile Marketing Association will grant the winning start up of the Mobile Premier Award in Marketing:

a free one year European MMA membership, valued at $2,500
a speaking slot at the 2010 Mobile Marketing Forum (MMF) Europe, the MMA’s flagship event for the entire mobile marketing ecosystem
consultancy from one or more MMA global board members with experience in start ups
presence on the MMA website, including the posting of a case study of the winner’s work

How To Create A Good Profile for the Mobile Premier Awards

Here’s some tips on how to create a good company profile for your startup participating to the Mobile Premier Awards.

After having setup and published your company profile at dotopen.com, go to your dashboard to update your profile.

Use the ‘projects’ tab to stuff your startup profile with more details on the projects you’re working on or the applications you developed. You can easily add a slideshare or PDF presentations.

Use the ‘media’ tab to add slideshare presentations and YouTube video’s of your startup pitches and demo’s.

Here’s a great example of a good company profile that has all relevant information needed for the jury to make a good decision. The better the profile, the easier it is for them!

How To Sign Up for the Mobile Premier Awards

Signing up to the Mobile Premier Awards is really easy. All it takes is registering at dotopen.com, set up and publish your company profile.

dotopen requires you to verify the email address you used to sign up. Assuming the email you typed in during sign-up was correct, you can look for an email from dotopen.com asking to verify your email address (sometimes these messages accidentally end up in spam folders). You can click a verification link from that email message, and you should be able to sign in using that email from now on.

If you can’t remember your password, you can recover your password by entering the email address associated with your account. You will receive a password reset email sent to that address. If you don’t receive it, make sure to check your spam folder.

Here’s a great example of a good company profile that has relevant information for the jury to make their decision. Don’t hesitate to use the project and media tabs to boost your profile. You can easily add video and slideshare presentations about your product or service or even past pitches at other events.

After publishing your profile, click the Mobile Premier Awards banner that will bring you to the award sign up box. You can select as many award categories as you think you have a chance to win.

Remember that the innovation award goes through a nomination process at your local MobileMonday to get a chance at delivering a live pitch in Barcelona. All the other awards will be given based on the information in your profile at dotopen.com
