Mobile Premier Awards Final Program

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

We’re happy to announce the final program of this years’ Mobile Premier Awards.

Besides the classic MPA in Innovation live 3-minute pitches, this year we have the winners of the other awards in collaboration with our Network Partners.

For this year’s event, we have a special keynote: a presentation on the story of arguably the most successful startup in mobile history, Admob.

Russell Buckley, Vice President Global Alliances at AdMob will be sharing thoughts on how to start and grow a successful company in mobile, based on over 10 years experience in the industry, AdMob’s phenomenal success, as well as ZagMe, which wasn’t so lucky.

Richard Wong, Partner Accel Partners, investors in AdMob, will talk about his experience as a VC with some of the key mobile startups in a presentation called  “The Inexorable Rise of Open Mobile”.

But there’s more:

Our event host will be Mark Palmer, Founder of Maverick Planet Ltd.

Check the jury that will choose the winners among the 20 finalists.

We added Mike Butcher, Editor of TechCrunch Europe and Matthäus Krzykowski, Editor of VentureBeat to moderate the pitches in the MPA in Innovation.

Mobile Premier Awards Online Jury

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

To make the finalist selection as transparent and open to the industry as possible, the Mobile Premier Awards brought together an online jury of industry experts to select the best startups, out of the 49 MPA in Innovation Nominees, selected by MobileMonday chapters around the globe.

The startups are valued on the basis of their:

  • originality, creativity and innovation
  • technical and operational feasibility
  • economic and financial viability

The jury members need to consider geographical diversity, keeping a good balance between different countries and continents. Jury members may not select a startup from their own country or have any commercial activity with any of the startups they choose.

We ask the jury members to choose startups with a cool mobile product, avoiding agencies, pure technology or low value me-too propositions. We stimulate diversity of application and solution areas, and we ask them to keep an eye open at the startups from developing countries.

The finalists will be announced here on January 25.

How To Sign Up for the Mobile Premier Awards

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Signing up to the Mobile Premier Awards is really easy. All it takes is registering at dotopen.com, set up and publish your company profile.

Register on dotopen.com

dotopen requires you to verify the email address you used to sign up. Assuming the email you typed in during sign-up was correct, you can look for an email from dotopen.com asking to verify your email address (sometimes these messages accidentally end up in spam folders). You can click a verification link from that email message, and you should be able to sign in using that email from now on.

If you can’t remember your password, you can recover your password by entering the email address associated with your account. You will receive a password reset email sent to that address. If you don’t receive it, make sure to check your spam folder.

Publish Your Profile on dotopen.com

Here’s a great example of a good company profile that has relevant information for the jury to make their decision. Don’t hesitate to use the project and media tabs to boost your profile.  You can easily add video and slideshare presentations about your product or service or even past pitches at other events.

Sign Up for the Mobile Premier Awards

After publishing your profile, click the Mobile Premier Awards banner that will bring you to the award sign up box. You can select as many award categories as you think you have a chance to win.

Remember that the innovation award goes through a nomination process at your local MobileMonday to get a chance at delivering a live pitch in Barcelona. All the other awards will be given based on the information in your profile at dotopen.com
